South Korea's Response
When Seoul was unexpectedly attacked by North Korea, South Korea was helpless. They were not prepared for anything and didn't even have enough armed soldiers and weaponry. The United States realized that they were in trouble and stepped in. They send troops from the United Nations and pushed North Korea back into the 38th parallel. As the war continued, the United States had helped South Korea a lot with the situation. They ordered troops there, and helped fight off the opposing side. South Korea was becoming a more independent country and weren't really disturbed anymore. The United Nations have thought of ways to bring North and South Korea together. Nothing was agreed on. Today, South Korea is a non-communist country and has not been bothered by North Korea. Both countries remained separated.
Implications
South Korea did not deserve any of this. They were a completely peaceful country who did not seek trouble with the North Koreans. They were dragged into the war and was not prepared. Without the help of the United States, I don't think the South Koreans could stand a chance against the North Koreans. The country was too weak at the moment. They might have given up and joined communist North Korea if United States hadn't stepped up.
