Role of United States
After South Korea was attacked by North Korea, the United States was dragged into the war. They agreed to help South Korea and many other countries from communism. The United States also encouraged the United Nation to send troops to Korea and kick North Koreans out of South Korea. This was successful. The United States was like South Korea's body guard. They protected them and many other countries from communism. They had large and powerful armies/ weaponry that they used to fight back. The U.S. involvement in the Korean War helped South Korea stand against North Korea. North Korea was weak did not stand a chance against the U.S. The North Koreans were weak. Because of the bombings in Japan, North Korea hoped that the United States would not do the same to them. Many North Koreans sheltered underground to avoid bombings. 36,934 U.S soldiers were killed and 103,284 were wounded.
Implications
I think the United States played the biggest part in the Korean War. At the time of the surprise attack, South Korea was helpless. Without the U.S's helped, they might have been defeated and forced into communism. The United States is a powerful nation and country. When the joined the war, North Korea was skeptical of continuing on. Many countries feared the United States since they were so powerful. The bombings in Japan made the U.S seem more frightening to them.
